Strongbody Ice Cream, Chocolate Chocolate Chip (Pint)
We took great care in developing a good tasting Chocolate Light Ice Cream, we added some Whey Protein Isolate to make the ice cream a good source of protein, and we sweetened it with Stevia, leaving all the added sugar behind for some other ice cream vendors to use. Oh, and then we added Chocolate Chips made out of an amazing 72% Dark Chocolate.
Ingredients: ICE CREAM: MILK, MALTODEXTRIN, MILK, PROTEIN, ERYTHRITOL, MICELLAR CASEIN, CREAM, WHEY PROTEIN ISOLATE, COCOA PROCESSED WITH ALKALI, NATURAL STABILIZERS (GUAR (GUM, LOCUST BEAN GUM,CARRAGEENAN), REBIANA (STEVIA EXTRACT, NATURAL SWEETENER).
CHOCOLATE CHIPS: BITTERSWEET CHOCOLATE (CHOCOLATE LIQUOR, SUGAR, COCOA BUTTER, SOY LECITHIN,VANILLA
This ice cream has better body than products by Enlightened or Halo Top. The fine grind on the chocolate chips contributes to the very good mouthfeel. Quite different from Halo mint chip where you're chewing down a cheekful of chips with every spoon. The chocolate flavor could be deeper; it may well be there but the Stevia in the product, which next to saccharin I think is the worst tasting low calorie sweetener, was something I was able to pick up quite easily. I'll note here that if you aren't bothered by Stevia in diet soda or other products you're unlikely to perceive a bit of an 'afterbite' in the way that I did.
As for getting to the point then, it's worth spending the extra $1 or $2 per pint to give this a first time try. I'm on the fence as to whether I'd purchase again but certainly don't feel out anything as munching this down was a four-star experience that also left me 32 grams of protein closer to the 'athletic fit' dress shirt rack at the men's clothing store!
